Whoa...I didn't realize it would be so difficult to find a comfortable sleeping position in the 8th month. Going to bed feels like a chore almost. I mean, I have to haul my heavy body onto the mattress, swing my legs over, and turn so that I don't jar my belly or plop down on my side too fast. I can feel the baby's weight shift onto my left (my preferred side) and settle heavily into my sides. He seems to fuss a little as I settle in for the night, but he'll stop once he's in his comfort position.
I've resorted to laying a thin pillow slightly underneath whichever side I'm sleeping on and sleeping with a pillow propped between my legs. It's still not comfortable enough for me to sleep blissfully, but it's a start. I don't have a pregnancy pillow, nor do I know where to get one here in Germany, but my wall of 3 pillows will have to do. The pillow between my legs really help ease the mild swelling and it feels so good to have some leverage in that area.
I've GOT to find a better sleep position. Getting up 3 - 4x a night doesn't help my crankiness levels during the day either. Ugh.
