I've gotten up twice in the middle of the night (or early morning) to relieve my bladder. The baby's head sits pretty low and every little move he makes has me itching to run to the bathroom. Forget running. 8 months and it's gotten a little hard to even get up from bed to handle some business. Usually, I'm on my left side and the bulk of the little guy's body has shifted to that side, so it feels like I'm hauling something insanely heavy as I struggle to sit vertically. It hurts a bit, but by the time I'm upright, it feels much, much better. The urge to pee is worse than ever, but sometimes I've got to catch my breath.
Afterwards, it's still a bit of an effort to lie back down. I usually do so in three movements; I slowly tilt my body to the side, swing my legs into bed, and calmly lie down so I don't make any jerky movements to wake sleeping beauty snoring beside me. By that time, I'm grunting and breathing hard from my efforts, it takes me forever to fall back asleep. The little guy knows mommy is awake and starts playing around in my belly, so I have to wait until he stops to catch some ZzZzZ's. Also, I'm paranoid about sleeping on my right side, where my hubby sleeps, because I'm afraid he might jab me with his arm when he moves around. Still, it sucks having to limit yourself to sleeping facing the left side.
I guess I shouldn't complain since I'll be getting less and less sleep as I get closer to my due date.
