One year ago today...

I cannot believe my littlest monster is a year old.  He of course has no idea.  Since Daddy is not home at the moment we will probably do something tomorrow.  He will be super excited about cake and have no idea why he is getting it, but naturally not care why anyway.

He is starting to stand on his own now, finally.  Today he stood up from sitting all by himself.  He was so shocked and confused as to how he had gotten in to that position that he sat right back down.  Was very cute.  Before today he would stand on his own only if he was letting go of something or if someone let go of him... "Naughty Mommy, you know you are not supposed to put me down, ever!"

At the moment he is draped over my slowly disappearing lap for his nap.  It only took me about two hours to get him to pass out.  *sigh*  Should be interesting with the newest one in a few months.

My husband called earlier and the baby was super excited to note that it was Daddy on the phone.  Even after we got off the phone he would open the phone and put it to my face saying "Daddy!"  Upside down and closer to my eye than my ear no less, but he's getting there.  It is very clear that he has missed his father for the short trip out of state.  Even our oldest said he wanted to talk with him because he "hadn't talked to him in a really long time!"... The night before last.  C still feels guilty about bonding with someone who is not his biological father.  I really hope that will fade in time.

Been a very busy year...
